We have been fortunate to work with many international publishers and licenses over the years and have enjoyed many years of partnership and good friendships along the way. There have been some difficult times too, none more so than the illness and sad passing of former co-founder Lynne Morton back in 2015. Whilst business continued, what followed was largely a period of reflection and partial hibernation for many of the books. However, in 2020 after a reunion and some excitable conversations, Brainwaves Books re-emerged with a new partnership between co-founder Keith Faulkner and Karen Giles, with enthusiastic plans to re-launch some of the hidden treasure chest of books which have spent the last few years enjoying the views from a lakeside shed guarded by Archie, a lovable poodle. Inside is packed with an array of clever and innovative novelty titles, with concepts waiting to be re-discovered and some new ideas and formats in the wings. One of our most popular and best-selling pop-up titles is The Wide-Mouthed Frog and 2021 marked its 25th Anniversary, so the timing was perfect for this to lead introduction to our wide range of pop-ups and all things novelty! We offer international rights and co-edition opportunities and are very much looking forward to turning the page on our next chapter…

2021 marked the 25th anniversary celebration for one of our most popular pop-up titles, telling the well-known story of a frog who loves to eat flies, but who is very interested to know what other animals eat.
The Wide-Mouthed Frog has printed over 1.7m copies in 20 languages worldwide and continues to bring amusement and surprise for children everywhere.
Alongside the concept, Brainwaves can also create and design the accompanying content covering illustration, design and story or theme. However, we also have extensive experience of working closely with a variety of partners on licensed character work or special publications, where we combine our paper engineering skills with your content. Or you may have an idea but need help bringing it to life. We offer a creative partnership with a collaborative approach and always very happy to discuss any project to see how we can assist.
